I'm Johann, a British-New Zealander Computer Science student based in the UK, currently studying Computer Science at the University of St Andrews.
My main interests are in Low-level Programming and Operating Systems in particular. I also have interests in the design, uses, and implementations of programming languages and I have conducted my own experimentation in ternary and quinary computing. I use Arch btw.
I'm the lead developer of Kumomi Systems, which I founded in 2023, and a member of The AVISI Group.
I'm not just a computer nerd, I also enjoy:
- Music - both listening to it (which I almost always am) and playing guitar, bass, or ukulele.
- Languages - owing to my heritage, I speak German and have a basis in Classical Latin; I'd love to learn many more, in particular Hungarian and te reo Māori.
- Travelling - I hope to get a remote job someday and with that I'd love to work and travel around the world.
- Sporting - long walks are calming and help me to debug, and I also enjoy going to the gym and practising Aikido.
- Games - in particular Stellaris, Dungeons and Dragons, and Cribbage.
